Australia’s First Gently Cooked Fresh Cat Food Arrives in Queensland
Queensland cat parents, the wait is over. CatChi has officially landed in the Sunshine State, bringing fresh, real food directly to your doorstep.
Founded in Sydney in 2024 by two cat lovers, who teamed up with vet nutritionists and feline vets, CatChi launched as Australia’s first gently cooked fresh cat food brand. After witnessing how commercial cat food had remained virtually unchanged since the 1950s, filled with low-grade pet meats and carbohydrates, they set out to make a difference with a product designed for cats, CatChi are and always will be cat only.
Following rapid growth across New South Wales, the ACT, they expanded into Victoria in 2025 and Queensland in 2026. This is a major step in CatChi’s mission to make fresh, gently cooked meals, made from human grade ingredients available to all Australian cat parents.
What Makes CatChi Different
Commercial canned and dry cat foods are typically processed at extreme heat, stripping away natural nutrients and relying on heavy starch fillers. CatChi takes a completely different approach:
-
100% Human-Grade Ingredients: Made in Australia using whole cuts of high-quality, farm-sourced meat, every recipe has over 95% meat and organ contents
-
Gently Cooked at 72 Degrees: Lightly cooked for 2 minutes to eliminate harmful pathogens while preserving crucial natural vitamins and micronutrients, then freshly frozen.
-
Zero Fillers or Carbs: As obligate carnivores, cats cannot metabolise high levels of carbohydrates well. CatChi recipes are less than 1% carbs, using over 95% meat in each recipe, no preservatives or artificial flavours. Just natural meat.
-
High Natural Moisture: Containing approximately 70% moisture to match a cat's natural biological hydration needs and support urinary tract and kidney health.
-
Single-Protein Formulations: Formulated alongside veterinary nutritionists, using transparent, single-source animal proteins to cater to sensitive stomachs and eliminate food allergies.
Why a Fresh Diet Matters
Diets high in carbs and low in hydration have contributed to rising rates of diabetes, kidney disease, and obesity in cats. Switching to a fresh, high meat diet delivers noticeable results and change in every cat; cleaner litter boxes with reduced odour, softer and shinier coats, better energy, and healthier weight management.
