Cats are obligate carnivores designed to eat meat.

We recommend meat based diets with high moisture and low carbohydrates

Sadly, too many commercial foods are low hydration and filled with carbs.

CatChi is here to change that, every recipe is ~70% moisture and less than 1% carbohydrates

Myths about cat food

If I buy a chicken flavour recipe the ingredients are mainly chicken

Some leading cat brands labelled as 'chicken flavour' have as low as 4% chicken in their recipe... This means that 96% of the food is something else. It's important to know what you're feeding your cat. Our recipes are online, and single protein. CatChi is all 95%+ meat, so you know what you're getting.

Cats can easily digest grains, rice and other fillers

Cats are obligate carnivores, they eat meat. In the wild they hunt small mammals, rodents etc. domesticated cats don't get the same opportunity. It's important to mimic their high protein, low carbohydrate diet - meat provides this, fillers do not.

It's common that cats have fleas or skin issues

Skin symptoms can mean a more serious underlying issue, and should always be checked with your vet.

As to why it occurs, we know that improper nutrition plays a major role in many skin conditions. Diets with ingredients that aren’t natural to cats cause inflammation in their intestines. Since the gut is the body’s largest immune organ, persistent inflammation can have widespread effects, including skin disease. Many allergic cats develop skin lesions, and plant ingredients in cat food are thought to be a significant trigger.

A cat's diet doesn't affect their coat

Omega oils, good fats and key vitamins, all of which CatChi includes healthy amounts of will show a significant change to your kitty's coat. A large number of our customers report shinier, softer coats within a week of shifting to CatChi.

Prescription dry food is needed

Even prescription dry food is high carbohydrate and low in hydration. Be wary of studies that show prescription dry food improves cats well-being, check to see what products they compare themselves with.

Dry food cleans cats teeth

Cat teeth are intended to slice, not grind. The number one issue for cats dental health is plaque. So reducing the plaque buildup, reduces inflammation of the gums and prevents tartar.

The best way to reduce plaque is by having a great bacterial environment in their mouth. That means, lots of moisture, good bacteria, and a good pH balance... standard dry food does none of this.

Since when does chewing biscuits clean your teeth? Most dry food is actually making it worse, because every biscuit they eat reduces their hydration levels, further harming their dental health.

Don't just take our word for it though
