Yes. Every CatChi recipe meets AAFCO standards and exceeds the minimums. 95%+ meat, gently cooked and vet formulated for all life stages.
Each recipe only has a single protein. If you're serving chicken, it only has chicken ingredients. This is important if your cat has allergies or sensitivities.
We have a 3 step process: 1) Dedicated days for each protein, we never mix on a single day. 2) Rigorous cleaning and decontamination processes. 3) Clear labelling and handling protocols.
No. CatChi is gently cooked, similar to how we cook food for ourselves. This removes harmful bacteria and parasites while maintaining nutrients that are often lost in tinned food.
Yes. All four recipes are grain free and contain less than 1% carbohydrates. Cats are obligate carnivores designed to digest animal proteins and fats, not carbohydrates.
Store in your freezer. Defrost overnight in the fridge before serving. Once thawed, it keeps for 4 days in the fridge.
Each meal is portioned to 100 calories, designed for indoor adult cats with an ideal weight of 4-5kg. Check out feeding guide or more info or email meow@catchi.com.au for personalised support.

1) Wait 12 hours, try sprinkles or warming. 2) After 3-4 attempts, try mixing with current food. 3) Email meow@catchi.com.au for specialist help.
100% dehydrated chicken breast. A great introduction to CatChi, or just a treat.
If you can feel their ribs without pressure, see a slight indentation at the waist, and no visible sagging belly, they're likely at ideal weight. For more info see our feeding guide.

Health Questions.
We recommend that you speak to your vet or vet nutritionist for your cat's specific case.
We have a number of cats in early stage CKD (stages 1 & 2), who eat and enjoy their CatChi as a mixed feeding option. Cats with later stage kidney disease often need a more restrictive diet, and the protein and phosphorus levels need to be reviewed for your case.
Our team can help you with any details about our food or other questions you may have and are always here to help, meow@catchi.com.au.
Each FLUTD & UTI diagnosis is different, it's best to speak with your vet about your cats specific case.
Overall, CatChi is great for urinary health as it's high in moisture ~70%, designed to support cats' hydration. Cats are obligate carnivores who literally 'eat' their water. Real meat is ~70% moisture while dry food (kibble) is typically <10% moisture.
We also formulate to a urine pH around 6.5, which discourages struvite crystals from forming.
Further, most brands use magnesium oxide, the cheapest and least absorbable form. We use chelated magnesium, which cats absorb readily, so less passes through the urinary tract and the risk of struvite urinary issues drops too.
CatChi is the ideal food for your cat, it's perfectly designed for them and matches as close as possible to their natural diet in the wild.
We have a guide to measure your cat's weight, based on feeling their ribs, checking their waist and touching their belly, more here.
Each CatChi meal is made up of 95%+ meat, and is high in all your cat's macro & micro-nutrient needs.
Our feeding guide highlights the amount your cat should be eating based on their weight and activity level, if they're underweight we'd recommend starting with a 1/4 to 1/2 pack more each day. Continue to monitor them with the indicators above until they reach their ideal weight.
Every CatChi meal is portioned to 100 calories, so you know exactly what you're feeding them (note two meals per pack).
Our recipes are all <1% carbohydrates, this is important as cats don't metabolise carbohydrates well and they often end up as added weight (or with extra smells in the litter box!). Check out our feeding guide, if your cat is overweight feed ~1/2 a meal less per day until they reach their ideal weight. Doing this at the right pace is important, use our guide, feel their ribs and check their belly and waist.
Also if you're leaving kibble out for them, we suggest taking it away (ideally always as it's not great for our cats), but at least until their weight has reduced to their ideal levels.
We'd recommend chatting with your vet about your cat's specific case and needs.

Each of CatChi's 4 recipes are single protein. Chicken = Chicken. Beef = Beef.
If you know your cat's allergy simply exclude that protein from your box and get a selection of the remaining recipes.
If you're figuring out if they have a food allergy, CatChi is often recommended for cats' elimination diets. We recommend speaking with your vet about this beforehand, typically you need to start with a novel protein (something your cat hasn't had before).
Hairballs come down to how much your cat grooms and how well their gut moves that hair through. Diet supports both: the coat your cat sheds, and the gut that has to move it.
Coat first. A dull, over-shedding coat means more loose hair swallowed during grooming. Omega-3s and quality protein support healthy skin and coat, and every CatChi recipe is 95%+ real meat with algal omega oil for exactly that.
Then digestion. ~70% moisture and 95%+ meat supports a healthy gut, so swallowed hair is more likely to pass through the natural way than sit and come back up.
If your cat brings up hairballs often or seems uncomfortable, have a chat with your vet. Frequent hairballs can also point to stress or a specific gut issue.
CatChi only use human grade, high quality ingredients, with every recipe over 95% meat and ~70% water. Our recipes are designed for cats, easy for them to digest, and contain between 22-28% fat on a DM basis, depending on the recipe.
If you're discussing this with your vet (always advised), we can give you more details to chat through with them. Please reach out to us at meow@catchi.com.au.
Vets managing a diabetic cat usually look for low-carbohydrate, high-protein food, and that's how every CatChi recipe is built. Under 1% carbohydrates, 95%+ meat, ~70% moisture. And because every meal is a fixed 100 calories, you know exactly what your cat is eating at each feed, which keeps blood-sugar-relevant feeding predictable.
